Geometric Soccer Ball Laser Cut Pattern — EPS

Build a faceted soccer-ball display model from an EPS pattern, with three workshop reference photos showing cut panels and assembly.

Faceted wooden soccer ball model beside CNC cut panels

This geometric soccer-ball project uses flat polygon panels to form a hollow faceted sphere. The main workshop image shows the assembled model beside additional pentagonal and hexagonal pieces on a CNC bed, making the panel-based construction clear.

Design and reference notes

One EPS file contains the design, and three JPG images document the build context and finished shape. The source imagery suggests a CNC workflow, but no verified panel count, final diameter, sheet thickness or assembly sequence is supplied in the folder.

A closed sphere requires consistent panel geometry and careful edge alignment. Confirm how many of each polygon are present in the EPS and whether any edge treatment or beveling is expected. Open Laser Files has not tested the model’s roundness or structural strength.

What is included

Project ID OSH-000038
Design files present EPS (1)
Reference and support files JPG reference images (3)
Inspection 5 September 2026: local file inventory and real supplied preview images; not machine-tested
Dimensions and material Not independently verified unless specifically attributed to a source note above

The workshop photographs are retained as supplied. Preserve any metadata or source markings present in the original files.

Before preparing this project

  • Count each polygon type in the EPS and compare that inventory with the reference photos before nesting parts.
  • Cut a small group of adjacent panels first to test edge fit and determine how the facets should be joined.
  • Keep scale consistent across every panel; even a small mismatch can accumulate around the finished sphere.

Work from a copy, keep the original package unchanged, and confirm scale and units before modifying geometry. Use a small test piece for joints or fine details, then choose cutting, engraving, carving or printing operations that match the actual file type and your own equipment.
